THE GAG IS CAPITALISM IS A SCAM!

Whew Chile! We have been in social isolation for what feels like years but really it has been three weeks for some and four weeks for others. We have thirty more days to go until we find out that we won’t be leaving the house until July ( All the hot girls are shaking right now. Our summer is at risk). I’m not even gonna start with my conspiracy theories because they are just wild and I’m sure we don’t have time for that, so let me continue with this post.

After spending ten hours a day on social media everyday ( which I’m not proud of by the way) till now, I can fully confirm that we’re all going crazy. We have done makeup challenges, Tik Tok dieee, cooking shows and people are going live on instagram EVERY night! ISOKAY! Unless you are Father DMW and Eva relax with the lives please! Relax!

Me being the perplexed human being I am not satisfied with the time I have, so what am I doing you ask? I am complaining about the fact that I feel like the need to create content. Hear me out. As a creative personality I feel so pressured to create and curate content for my online audience so that they don’t “forget” about me. The gag is nobody cares at this point. We are in the middle of a global pandemic! Nobody is waking up to ask themselves why Jael didn’t post a video about boots or a video on how to wear clothes. There are bigger issues at hand! I’m dragging myself so you can see the bigger picture. Capitalism got us all messed up. We’re all online telling people that if they come out of this isolation without acquiring a new skill or a business venture then they’ve wasted their time and they lack discipline. Whatever happened to just relaxing and enjoying life? I know it’s a wild concept but think about it. When was the last time you worked on your hobby just for the hell of it?

Don’t get me wrong. Life is going to go on after this pandemic but have you ever stopped to think that our normal before this situation was just a scam? I mean parents were separated from their children in the name of “work”. Employers swore that people could not do their jobs from home yet here we are. Schools swore that kids couldn’t have longer summer vacations because it would make them dumb (although I don’t doubt this) but once again here we are. Everything we thought would be the worst case scenario is what we’re living through and it’s all somehow working. So really my question here is how have we been writing off socialism, could it be that capitalism has been the broken system?

I’m only gonna say this once, these instagram influencers, entrepreneurs and professional hustlers need to leave us be. Stop shoving the narrative of self made down our throats. Not everything has to be a side hustle, not everyday you have to work yourself to the bone. It’s sickening that people no longer have morals and boundaries when it comes to making money. People that are buying essential items from the stores to sell at a higher price all in the name of entrepreneurship. How are you feeling today? When did being a decent human being go out of style? What’s even more baffling are the ones that are claiming to educate their audience on the virus because it’s their “duty” and in turm spreading wrong information and potentially risking the lives of hundreds of people. It gets better though, my favorites are the ones that are selling cloth masks because they want to “protect people” knowing fully well that those masks don’t do anything. My special favorites are the ones that are selling surgical masks and hand sanitizers for the price of a pair of Loubutins. How do you lot sleep at night? These people are so bold yeah. Like Michael Jackson “I have never bleached a day in my life” bold! I find it so amusing. Crisis brings out the ugly in people.

We have so glamorized the concept of over working and monetizing every single hobby! People are no longer doing things for fun. I have been personally affected by this. I realized that at a point in time I was writing just to put content out and not because I enjoyed it. I use to get so mad when I hit a block and didn’t have anything to write about. In essence we are rushing the creative process because we’re so hell bent on creating content and art for people to consume. I realized that as an artist and creative not everything you create has to be consumed, you have to keep some things for yourself. It’s really tempting to share especially if you’re self employed and your daily bread depends on the consumption of your audience, but ultimately remember why you’re creating. I think it’s time we put the passion back into our art and kick capitalism to the curb. It’s going to be hard but like most things we can try. Once again I am warning all these instagram, influencers, entrepreneurs and professional hustlers to leave us alone!

After all is said and done I am still here waiting for my stimulus check. The essentials if you ask me. Mans not financially stable at the moment… Before I leave I would like to tell you guys that I’m a problematic person that almost never practice what I preach. I have started a new podcast. The Essentials Podcast. Somehow I have become a financial expert (don’t worry I’m side eyeing myself for you), philosopher and adulthood expert, so if you’re interested in hearing my banters please go subscribe and tune in every Wednesday. I have also restarted my youtube channel. I don’t know how to rest so I’m constantly creating things! Also lastly please be sure to check out my clothing website. Small businesses ( I hate that term) like us are slowly dying. By the time this post goes up I would have had another business venture so save yourself the trouble and just follow me on Instagram to keep up.

That’s all for now until next time stay fabulous!
